Unicel Architectural’s Timber Curtain Wall (TCW) is a stunning yet highly functional design feature that combines large, high-quality glazing with rich wood finishes and Passive House certification-level thermal insulation.

Because TCW is made with high-quality insulated glass units sealed with a strong silicone adhesive, it provides architects the ultimate flexibility—the ability to design buildings that appear to be made of nothing but glass from the exterior.

With numerous wood species available and several different cap and facade options, TCW provides near-limitless design potential while also contributing to biophilic design aspirations. It’s a popular design option for a range of applications including universities and colleges, recreation centers, libraries, airports, tourism welcome centers and high-end residential homes.

Standard wood species for TCW include glue laminated Douglas fir, black spruce and white oak. Many other options are also available. Cap options include eucalyptus solid wood caps and snap-on aluminum cap color can be customized to project needs.

TCW can be equipped with a unique line of specialty glazing (insulating glass units) that provide high performance and durability for a range of specifications and use cases, from institutional to commercial and residential.

Each Therm+ H-I curtain wall system (available in sizes of 56 and 76 mm) combines seamless design and high efficiency and performance for sustainable projects of all kinds.
