Story
How it Started
Unicel Architectural is founded in Montreal, Quebec.
Unicel Architectural creates Vision Control®, a daylight, privacy and sound control solution ahead of its time in terms of thermal efficiencies. The company enters the aluminum sector to target large-scale institutional and apartment building projects.
Unicel Architectural patents Vision Control®, as it receives growing Canadian and international acclaim.
Unicel Architectural expands its US customer base, including FBI offices in multiple states, the Cedar-Sinai Hospital in Miami, Ohio State University in Columbus, and the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas.
Unicel Architectural and Vision Control are featured in several noteworthy projects across Canada and the US, including Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Peterborough General Hospital, University of Toronto, Iowa State University, Bigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Grand Rapids Art Museum in Michigan and the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. The company is also involved in projects in Finland and Asia.
Unicel Architectural establishes a market presence in the GCC (Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates), as well as Latin America. The company also launches Vision Control® Mini, a thinner version of its patented louvered glazing solution.
Unicel Architectural expands its specialty glazing portfolio with a new, integrated blinds product: ViuLite®.
Unicel Architectural celebrates its 50th anniversary.
Unicel Architectural Corp. acquires IC2 Technologies Inc., a leader in timber curtain wall.
Unicel’s products are featured in prominent healthcare, institutional, commercial and educational building projects around the globe.
