Tasks & Responsibilities
- Responsible for month-end accounting close activities including preparation of journal entries and reconciliations and submission of the standard trial balance to yield timely and accurate financial information;
- Perform financial analysis on drivers of business performance, including productivity, inflation, and cash flow;
- Serve as a well-respected business partner and financial resource, with frequent partnership with manufacturing, supply chain management, project management, sales, and IT;
- Support Controller with submission of forecasts, annual operating plans, and other deliverables and ad hoc analyses;
- Accountable for intercompany accounting including settlement of intercompany receivables and payables;
- Support the controller to ensure the integrity of all data reported and compliance with all controls and accounting policies;
- Establish the necessary securities for all new orders;
- Determine and communicate payment terms for new orders;
- Produce monthly government tax reports;
- Act as a resource person for the accounting team;
- Partner with business leaders to identify and implement projects to improve business processes and controls;
- Involvement in special accounting-related projects
Skills & Requirements
- Proficient with utilizing technology, such as Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI, Excel – VLookup, XLookup, Pivot tables, Sumif, IF, etc.) and Sage300;
- Maintain high level of attention to detail, prioritization, and multi-task in faced-paced environment;
- Audit experience preferred, SOX, etc.;
- Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving and analytical skills;
- Ability to work in a multi-currency environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience including general ledger
- Knowledge of the construction industry (an asset)
- Bilingualism (French and English), both oral and written
